In the past, AI has always been critically received. Many people see their jobs at risk; entire strikes have already been held because of artificial intelligence. Now it also hits Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
First of all: This is still insider information, there is still no official confirmation. The Call of Duty leaker GhostOfHope, known in the community, has learned that almost all of the actors and actresses involved in Zombies modeinvolved have terminated.
The reason for this is concern about excessive use of AI. The leaker writes: "Almost all of the actors who star in Black Ops 6 Zombies' crew have pulled out of work due to the lack of AI protection in their contracts. This has led to some of the disappointing reshuffles we've seen now in the early stages (e.g. SAM on Citadelle), with some likely to be recast in future maps etc."
Of course, this news is not received particularly well by the community. Many people are already missing their well-known and popular speakers. According to some users, real actors and actresses can never be replaced by artificial intelligence, which simply lacks real emotions.
Some are also directly calling for Treyarch and Activision to be put under pressure. After all, the changes to the double XP tokens have also taken a back seat, and that must now be possible. Activision itself has not yet commented on the matter.
The AI issue is not new; the SAG-AFTRA union has been on strike against major studios such as Activision-Blizzard, EA and Warner Bros since July 2023. In summary, it is about the concern that artificial intelligence is changing the voices and faces of actors without appropriate compensation or consent could be used.
