GTA 6 will probably be the biggest release of all time. But when is the action game coming? Many people are still not sure.
The release ofhas the potential to reach completely new dimensions in gaming. This goes so far that other developers create their own. It should actually happen in autumn 2025, but in the past few months there have been repeated reports that. Now gaming journalist Jason Schreier has commented on the topic again and rarely so clearly: He is sure that GTA 6 will not be released until 2026.
We'd better wait a few more months
What did Schreier say?Basically, he remains pretty vague in his reasoning, but his announcement about the postponement is really clear. When asked: “When do you think GTA 6 will be released?” Schreier said in the interview:
I would be shocked if they actually made it next year. I think it will probably be postponed again. Because Rockstar always postpones. […] At the moment Take2 says they are on track. We'll see if that's still the case in a few months.
He cites experience as justification and tells an anecdote. So he once sat at CD Project Red in Warsaw, the developers of Cyberpunk 2077. He says it was 2016 and that was the day information about Red Dead Redemption 2 appeared. At that time it was said that RDR2 was coming in autumn 2017. In the end there was still two big shifts and the western epic was released in October 2018. Schreier says that since then it has become even more difficult to develop games.
