After 6 years, Zelda fans celebrate a forgotten spin-off that you shouldn't sleep over

The Zelda franchise has now produced 20 main games. There is also a number of spin-offs, among which real highlights are hidden. Probably also due to the sheer number of titles, they do not always get the attention they deserve.

"Why is nobody talking about this game anymore?"

This fate also hashealed. The unique spin-off appeared in 2019Exclusively for the Nintendo SwitchAnd stands out above all through its extraordinary combat system. The game is currently becoming the game of some fansOn Redditdiscusses what is rarely the case.

Cadence of Hyrule is a crossover with. Both games come from indie developers Brace Yourself Games. In the case of the Zelda adaptation, Nintendo was on board as a publisher.

Basically you do exactly what you do in most other Zelda games. You fight Monster as a link or one of three other characters,Explore dungeonsAnd finds valuable equipment in it. Of course, the nasty Ganon has to be stopped again.

The most important mechanics are therhythmic fights. During the gameplay, a beat runs in the background to which your opponents move according to certain patterns. You also have to adapt your attacks and actions to the music to be successful.

Together with onesend 2D graphics style, which is reminiscent of older classics in the series, this results in a unique, albeit something stubborn Zelda adventure, which now flies a bit below the radar.

This could also be because musical rhythm gameplay is not made for everyone. Voices that have not gotten warm with the combat system are also found under the post linked above.

But do not be put off by this:Optionally, you can also switch off the beat completely. In this case, Cadence of Hyrule becomes a round -based game, in a way, in which your opponents only make a train if you do it - without any rhythmic guidelines.

We can only agree with the positive voices. InThe Adventure cleared up a high level and was able to convince thanks to the cool gameplay concept, co-op mode and great level design.

If you would like to play a rhythmic dungeon crawler, but don't have a Nintendo Switch, you can alternatively take a look at the original Crypt of the Necrodancer, which has also been published for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

What do you think: Did you play Cadence of Hyrule or do you still have it in mind?
