'Crows, please stay away! - Stardew Valley fan wants to protect the first harvest and makes a funny sign that wasn't needed at all

No scarecrow ready? That doesn't matter at the beginning!

recently finally got on thereceive. To mark this occasion, many fans have started a new game on the Nintendo Switch etc. to take advantage of all the changes from the start - or have inherited grandfather's farm for the first time.

In both cases, the newcomers start from scratch and have to laboriously acquire many aids and tools. Reddit users also have this experienceu/coffeeinhalermade when the first small field wanted to be protected from greedy crows.

A scarecrow can be built quite early at level 1 in farm work, but you can't do it right at the beginning. So coffeeinhaler came up with a fun, alternative deterrent. A small sign with the inscription“Crows, please stay away".

That's why crows actually don't come

Interestingly, the field actually “works” to a certain extent as it is laid out in the picture. Not a single crow will touch anything here. However, this is not because of the sign.

When do crows come? The game essentially rolls the dice every night to see whether crows will come and eat their fill of your growing plants. One nasty bird can spawn for every 16 plant spaces. This goes up to a maximum of four crows.

More about Stardew Valley:

So if youless than 16 plantsIf you have it, no crow will come. Only 15 fields can be seen in the Reddit post and the farm is therefore safe for now. That's why it's probably no coincidence that Lewis gives you 15 parsnip seeds as a welcome gift when you first arrive in Stardew Valley.

You can plant and cultivate the first seeds without hesitation. Once you've harvested your 15 parsnips, that should be enough to level up farm work. Zack, you can now build the scarecrow. It almost seems like developer Eric Barone has put some thought into this!

In a sense, coffeeinhaler's improvised sign served its purpose - at least in terms of external impact. And it was a charming idea, too.
