Solo Leveling: These are all classes in the series - only Jin-Woo is the exception

Solo Leveling protagonist Jin-Woo is different than many other anime heroes. But what class does he belong to?

develops into a real anime favorite within a very short time. This is partly due to the cool premise and the video game proximity. For example, there are not only the fixed, different ranks of hunters, but also different hunter classes. We will introduce you to which ones there are and how they differ. Of course, we also clarify which protagonist Jin-Woo belongs to.

These are the Hunter classes in solo leveling and their advantages

That's what it's about:In Solo Leveling, interdimensional gates have opened, revealing dungeons full of monsters. The dungeons have a certain level, which essentially represents the level of difficulty. If the magically gifted hunters do not manage to defeat the dungeon boss within a few days, the monsters will pass through the gate into the real world.

The special thing about solo levelingSo it's quite obvious that the anime, which is based on a Korean comic, is very much based on video game rules and their logic. However, the Hunters have an unchangeable rank (from S, best, to E, worst), which, unlike in many other manga and anime, cannot actually be increased through training.

These are the classes:As in many, many role-playing games, Solo Leveling also has six extremely classic (ha!)-looking classes. They all have certain properties and advantages, which we will briefly explain here. Most of this will seem very familiar to you if you've ever played an RPG (viaGameRant).

  • magician: Can cast spells and fight at a distance. There are different forms of magic, such as incantations, elemental spells, curses or magical barriers.
  • healer: Can hardly fight at all and primarily cast spells to heal their team members or to make them stronger with the help of buffs. Classic support role.
  • fighter: Ideal frontline fighters who go at close range. In close combat, they attack enemies with swords, axes, spears or even their bare fists.
  • Tankers: Classic tanks with high armor and defense that are designed to attract the attention of opponents and take a beating. For example, Yoo Jinho is a tank.
  • Murder: The opposite of tanks, they deal massive damage at close range and rely on stealth as well as mobility and skill.
  • Ranger: Ranged fighters who rely on bows and the like. They also have certain magical abilities for support, but are virtually helpless in close combat.

Which class does Solo Leveling protagonist Jin-Woo belong to now?

This is an exceptional case:At the beginning of the story, Jin-Woo is very weak as an E-rank hunter. But that's also because it's not really clear to him where his strengths actually lie. At first he tries hand-to-hand combat, but he can't do anything with a sword, so he's not much of a fighter.

Jin-Woo is much more comfortable with a dagger, so one might think that he is a member of the assassin class. But after a short time it turns out that the solo leveling protagonistis actually a magician, more specifically a necromancer. In a sense, he can resurrect the ghostly shadows of deceased opponents and let them fight for him.
