Player puts his PS5 too close to the heating and it melts so hard that the side panels are now simply stuck

Consoles are an expensive piece of technology. Accordingly, it is important to protect them from possible dangers in the household, it is pets, children or simply the dirt and dust that accumulates over the years. A player has obviously overlooked a potential danger zone: the heating.

PS5 melts together, sometimes still works

We have already seen some dirty and damaged Playstation 5 consoles. So far we have not yet come across something like this. Reddit user trollzoll has shared a picture with the community that shows a completely battered PS5.

According to the user, the console belongs to a friend who grabbed her "too close to the heater or something". In the result, we can only ask ourselves whether the console snuggled directly with the heating.

The side plates are completely bent and dissolve from the housing in some places. However, the problem seems to be that they have melted in other places and no longer go off:

In fact, the console still works, at least in part. As Trollztoll indicates, it at least still matters. But not for long, because: "The ventilation is really bad and it is a bit unusable because it overheated so quickly."

The user asks the community for advice. According to his own statement, he would like to repair the console for his boyfriend or girlfriend so that in return he could play Ghost of Tsushima on it.

In fact, he also gets a little help in the comments, even if some users first make fun of the condition of the console and describe them as "cooked" (literally cooked, rather "destroyed" in this case).

Some users recommend carefully remove the side plates. This makes it easier to find out whether the fans have also melted or there are deformations on the PS5 itself - in this case a repair would be much more complicated.

User R64FD recommends buying a used PS5 whose hardware (off the fan) does not work and to expand the hardware of the melted PS5 and transfer it into the new housing.

The user also gives an important tip at the very end: In the current state, the PS5 should not be connected to the electricity as long as nobody is in the room. After all, it cannot be estimated whether the console could be a fire risk by damaged components.

What would you do with such a PS5?
