Eiichiro Oda has started a completely new chapter in the final saga of the Shonen series with the completion of the Egghead and the start of the Elban Arc. Already within the Egghead Arc there were a variety of additional background information on Joyboy, the empty century and Ruffy's connection to the legendary sun god Nika.

Spoilerwarnung! The next sections deal with the current events, revelations and turning points in the Elban Arc. If you have not yet read in the manga until the end of the Egghead Arc and be up to date in the manga, some very important plot elements are spoiled and anticipated.

The current Elban Arc seems to maintain this pace of waves of new information on the world history of One Piece. Finally, the existence of three other gods next to Nika was revealed by a murals in combination with an ancient text:

The community already believes that the identity of the god of the earth, which has already fought against Nika in a battle in the past.Marshal D. Teach, also known as Blackbeard, should either be the reincarnation of God or embody it in the current world.

Blackbeard as one of Luffy's final opponents and his counterpart as the god of the earth.

In the "Harley" scripture, the "First World" section tells how the legendary warrior Nika Slaves freed and oppressed on earth.

There is said to have been a earth god who plunged the world into chaos through Nika's act of liberation and brought death and darkness alongside a "fire snake". Fans interpret the text as a description of a centuries -long war between the sun god Nika, the earth god and a being called "flame snake", possibly imu.

Since the earth god and the sun god in "Harley" are presented as opposites, fans have drawn up the theory that the earth god has to be blackbeard in today's world. If Luffy holds Nika's reincarnation or the power of the sun god, the earth god and opponent of Nika can only be Blackbeard, according to the logic behind it.

Blackbeard embodies greed for power and evil almost perfectly. The evil pirate Ruffy's grandfather and Vice Admiral Garp is currently captivating. Another indication of its malice and the parallel to the earth god in "Harley" is the takeover of the Pirate Island of Hachinosu, where he also suppressed many people and even kidnapped Koby. Destruction, oppression, enslavement and evil deeds are both the daily business of Blackbeard and a big topic of the earth god.

In addition, fans have already noticed how much Luffy and Blackbeard are similar in their ambitions and yet are completely opposite. Blackbeard wants to become a pirate king and find the big one piece - just like Luffy, but both differ massively in their motifs.

Luffy is not really about the title of the pirate king or world domination. In his eyes, the pirate king is the "free" person in the world and the desire for complete freedom drives the straw hat.

Blackbeard, on the other hand, wants to claim the title for himself so that the whole world is subject to him. For this, the dreaded pirate also goes over corpses or burns uninvolved villages, like that of Chopper. So the two are pure opposites and Blackbeard would fit almost perfectly into the role of the earth god.

Blackbeard's devil forces are another indication of his role as God on earth

Already three years ago before the large mural and the old text were discovered on Elban, there was upRedditSpeculation about the existence of the different gods and who could play what role.

Including the Blackbeard-Erdgott theory. Even then, readers had the assumption that the cruel pirate could be the god of the earth and drew attention to one detail that now gains even more in importance and weight.

Blackbeard is owned by two devil fruits:The darkness fruit and the earthquake fruit.

Blackbeard enables the darkness to neutralize and withdraw other devil fruits of the same logia variety. The fruit therefore works like a black hole that has a strong attraction and, as a result, picks up the attacks by other devil fruit users. In addition, the devil fruit is considered the "most malignant" fruit in the world of One Piece.

It seems that Blackbeard acquired the earthquake fruit after the death of Whitebeard. Blackbeard can trigger earth and seaquakes with the devilish forces. For example, he can equate an entire city or even an island with a lake or earthquake to the ground. Since Blackbeard is often portrayed with the greed for power, the pirate, after receiving his new strength, tried them out at the Marine Ford - however, he did not quite control it!

Destruction and greed are always recurring topics related to Blackbeard, which now associated him even more with the God of Earth through the old script on Elban and support the assumptions in the community even more.

However, it is important to wait and see whether this theory will really come true or Eiichiro Oda still has an ace in the sleeve. Finally, in addition to Blackbeard as the great antagonist and ruler of the world government, there is also IMU as a candidate for the title of the earth god - and compared to Blackbeard IMU seems to be even more dangerous for Luffy! But what is your opinion on the theory of Blackbeard as the God of Earth and who do you think are the rest of the gods?
