Nintendo Switch 2 rumor: According to insiders, an event will take place in May and the console may be released in June 2025

The Nintendo Switch 2 release date is getting closer and closer, maybe it will be in May or June.

Everyone is waiting for them. We still have to be patient, but there are now new rumors about a possible launch date for the next Nintendo console. According to an insider, there will initially be a larger event in May where the Switch 2 can possibly be tried out. The release itself could then take place either at the end of May or in June 2025.

Nintendo is reportedly planning a big Switch 2 event in May 2025

That's what it's about:If well-known insider NateDrake is right, Nintendo is hosting a big event centered around the Switch 2 in May next year. Of course, what exactly is happening hasn't been officially announced yet, but it could be like it was with the first Switch.

Just like in 2017?In January 2017, Nintendo invited various press representatives who were then able to try out the new console on site. If an event is actually planned for May, it could well be a similar hands-on event.

Where does the rumor come from?Of course, you should currently treat the whole thing with caution because there is no official information on the matter. But what insidersNateDrake on his own podcasttold, was at least true several times in the past - but the leaker was wrong more than once.

If you have Nintendo Switch Online, you can currently secure another Game Boy classic:

The Nintendo Switch 2 could then come onto the market at the end of May or beginning of June 2025

Rumors have existed for a long timethat the Switch 2 may be released in May or June 2025. At least, according to NateDrake aka Nate the Hate, it was said to have been discussed in September and October and publishers are supposedly already planning this time frame for the release.

The insider did not want to confirm the date, but he was able to “reveal” that this Nintendo Switch 2 event is apparently taking place in May. In terms of timing, that would of course be perfect if the console were to appear a little later.

But don't rejoice too soon:As always, with such rumors and speculation, you should take them with a grain of salt until there are some solid, official announcements. But either way, it can't be too long until the Switch 2 launches.

What do you think of these possible dates? Would that suit your schedule well and do you think it's realistic?
