The best Hogwarts Legacy mission is still great and part 2 absolutely needs more!

The best mission in Hogwarts Legacy should be the model for part 2 (picture: YouTube/Beetsbydre911)

has done a lot right as a modern implementation of the Harry Potter world. This also includes a handful of missions of the story campaign, which I have remembered comfortably until today. But even the best quests of the game stands out. The unexpectedly creepy use "Take care of your affairs" has no gripping name, but otherwise delivers completely.

Incidentally, I share this assessment with the Hogwarts Legacy Community, because quotes, memes and enthusiastic experience reports can also be found regularly in the corresponding forums and social media networks two years after the release of the Open World game. And that despite the fact that the quest for release mainly produced negative mood at fans because it was initially only playable for PlayStation consoles.

The focus on this individual high -flying mission around a shop in the village of Hogsmeade also shows one of the greatest weaknesses in the game, which Warner should not repeat in the continuation already confirmed.

What makes the “horror quest” so special?

The mission leads us to Hogsmeade, where we get the tempting offer to open our own shop. What sounds quite inconspicuous at first will soon become much more interesting. In the back room of the business, a secret passage leads into dark depths, in which a spirit drives its mischief.

It is probably the best half an hour for me that Hogwarts has to offer Legacy's mission design. While I am persecuted by creepy, lifeless clothing dolls, I have to solve puzzles and overcome traps. The surroundings always play with my perception, mislead me and overflows in front of a dark atmosphere. And as if that weren't enough, the quest tells a nice story with some twists.

Don't worry, I don't spoil anything, here you can see a walkthrough of the mission:

All of this works in large parts differently than the majority of the rest of the game. I can't just run out of the basement again. Only when I have cranked myself will it go back to the surface.

“Take care of your affairs” is a strictly linear and carefully cramped story mission in a unique place that misses both hard work and open-world freedom of movement. Coupled with the surprisingly dark horror atmosphere, the mission therefore strikingly stands out from the rest of the game.

More of it and less irrelevant Open World, please

At first I think that Hogwarts Legacy is an open world game. Even if I was able to walk relatively freely through school for witchcraft and magic in older Potter games, the current offshoot has lifted this imagination quite successfully on a new level. In any case, I like to be very happy with brooms and hippog ready over British lands.

However, the card was still too big for me. More space meant a slow progress of the already mediocre main story, more interchangeable side quests, more hidden boxes and, above all, more of Merlin's challenges.

In contrast, the sudden change of mood in the dark Hogsmeade cellar caught me cold-and positive-because it looked surprisingly creative compared to the rest of the open world.

In itself, fountain pens, puzzles and Co. are elements that I like to appear in an open world game from me. After all, the genre also lives from the fact that I just stay in a foreign world to soak up the atmosphere. Not everything has to be perfectly clocked and staged excitingly. In Hogwarts Legacy, the weighting did not fit for me at this point.

We obviously agree

And why am I only telling all of this now, two years after the release of the game? Because I see again and again that many Hogwarts fans feel the same way as I do. A look at the corresponding subreddits regularly reveals successful posts, in which the community is still enthusiastic about exactly this one mission.

The good thing is that I develop developers Avalanche more high-quality quests of this kind, because even if the Hogsmeade use was the highlight, there are other positive examples from the campaign.

I also like to remember the exam of ex-school director Niamh Fitzgerald, who leads me through a black and white hatched, surreal world. My first excursion on a hippog ready was also well staged and the quest series around crowd favorite Sebastian also had its story muscles play compared to the rest of the main story.

I hope that the development team will draw the right conclusions from the ongoing enthusiasm for their quest highlights. This includes, for example, that future serial parts should not publish such jewels only for a platform. For a year, only Playstation fans could have fun with the great mission and that was of course gross nonsense.

If Hogwarts Legacy 2 drives a bit back to the card size and the excessive side tasks and more high -quality storymissions in the style of “Take care of your affairs”, the sequel can only win in my eyes. After all, it is precisely these missions that are remembered in the long term and not the 43th box in the forbidden forest.
