Dragon Ball features a new elite unit that suspiciously reminds us of the Ginyu task force

The Ginyu Force, which achieved cult status thanks primarily to its dance.

Dragon Ball Daima is gradually approaching the home stretch with episode 14 - at least if we believe the makers' statements. The new anime series has many surprises in store for us every week. Be it important scraps of lore that, for example, put the Namekians in a new light, new Saiyan transformations or simply a lot of allusions to the early days of Dragon Ball.

A new elite unit was recently introduced, which immediately reminded us of the iconic Ginyu Sonderkommando from DBZ.

Spoiler note:Below we will specifically discuss events from Episode 14 of Dragon Ball Daima.

Memories of the Ginyu Force

That's what it's about:With episode 14 "Tabu" the five-member team becameSpecial gendarmerie unitintroduced. These are particularly strong warriors from the first demon world who report to Gomah and are supposed to prevent Son Goku, Vegeta and Co. from causing trouble around the royal palace.

The troop consists of Captain Kadem, Danima, Hillia, Mashim and Gaimoi.

From top left to bottom right: Gaimoi, Hillia, Mashim, Commander Kadem and Danima.

However, two things quickly become clear:The group seems to consist of unprofessional slobs with an enormous fondness for sweets, and Akira Toriyama has obviously allowed himself a homage to the Ginyu Force.

Like the iconic Sonderkommando that served Freeza in DBZ before their demise, the five perform a dance to introduce themselves that is strongly reminiscent of the legendary pose of the Ginyu Force.

So you can refresh your memories a little, you can see the pose here in the video:

We'll find out next Friday from 6:45 p.m. on ADN and Crunchyroll whether the special gendarmerie unit ultimately has more on its plate than first impressions suggest.

The fight with our Dragon Ball heroes has already begun and it will soon become clear whether Son Goku will quickly put an end to another special squad.

Did you immediately think of the Ginyu Force when you saw the special gendarmerie unit and how do you like such allusions to earlier times?
