Baldur's Gate 3: Shadow Heart actress wants to return for a sequel - but sets very precise conditions

A return of Shadowheart would be possible - but only under certain conditions.

It's been a year nowwon big at the Game Awards. Since then, things have been anything but quiet about Larian Studios' successful role-playing game. Smaller and larger content updates have repeatedly brought a breath of fresh air into the game over the course of the year and a lot more is expected to be added in 2025, including a photo mode, crossplay and new subclasses.

The Schattenherz actress can imagine returning to the game – but only under one condition

However, it is doubtful that there will be much more content added to Baldur's Gate 3. The developers at Larian Studios are already in the middle of the next project, which is...acts.

If another development studio takes on the mammoth task of developing a worthy successor to Baldur's Gate 3, then the cast of the third game could definitely imagine being part of it. In particular, the actress behind Schattenherz, Jennifer English, expressed her interest in this in an interviewGamesRadarout of.

"If there is a future with Shadowheart, I would want it to be beautifully written and honor the game's audience and Larian's inclusive and forward-thinking mindset."

She would take on the role again but only under certain conditions:

“If this opportunity came up and it was really beautifully written and really honored the audience and the inclusion, I would certainly consider it. But only under these conditions.”

English also speaks up for her colleagues, who she suspects would also be open to future projects. At the same time, she emphasizes how important inclusion is to her - completely understandable with a diverse cast like Baldur's Gate 3.

English is a lesbian herself and speaks openly about her queerness. With Samantha Béart – who gives Karlach her voice and her movements – there is also a non-binary person among the actors.

More about Baldur's Gate 3

We can completely understand that Jennifer English only wants to continue to embody her role as Shadowheart if it is sufficiently honored.

Finally, as a companion, she remains the most popular option for a romantic relationship in the game, regardless of the gender of her partner. On the one hand, this is probably due to English's successful acting performance, but on the other hand, it is also due to the gripping story of the cleric.

As always, we are curious to hear the opinion of the GamePro community:Do you want to see more of Shadowheart or has her story been told for you in the game?
