Ubisoft drives the restructuring and in this context brings the Chinese huge tencent on board. As the developer and publisher now officially confirmed, a new subsidiary is founded, in which Tencent is also involved. The new company should therefore have a value of around 4 billion euros. Tencent secures shares of 25 percent and has 1.16 billion euros jumping.

The special thing about the matter: This new daughter is also outsourced by the big game stark Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six; In the future, Tencent will also have his fingers in the game and a word. In addition, the Ubisoft studios in Montreal, Quebec, Sherbrooke, Saguenay, Barcelona and Sofia are shipped there.

In an internal email to employees, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot speaks of "a milestone in the history of Ubisoft". He also sees the agreement made with Tencent as an appreciation of the "extraordinary work" of employees in recent years.

The funds contributed by Tencent enable Ubisoft to accelerate the changes in the structure that have been discussed internally for months and to set up the company for the future.

Marie-Sophie de Wauert, Senior Vice President at Ubisoft, also commented and admitted that there was "some unsafe and questions" due to the restructuring. You have not yet had all the answers to these, but you want to "communicate transparently and regularly" with the employees. In short: it should hardly be ruled out that savings and layoffs could also occur.
