Hazelight Studios is fully specialized in co-op adventures and wants to repeat or exceed the success of It Takes Two with the new title Split Fiction and relatively soon.
It had already been leaked in advance that Hazelight Studios, known for the famous It Takes Two, would be presenting a new game at the Game Awards. That's exactly what happened and Hazelight once again remains true to its co-op specialization.
Split Fiction is the name of the new co-op action adventure, which is scheduled to appear on March 6, 2025 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. As always, Hazelight has come up with something special, because Split Fiction has a split-screen mode and lets you switch between fantasy and science fiction worlds.
In the game you take on the roles of Mio and Zoe, two aspiring writers who are quite different - one writes sci-fi stories, the other fantasy stories. When they connect to a machine that catapults them into their stories, they become prisoners of their own fantasies. Jumping between worlds, they must work together and master a variety of skills to escape and preserve their memories.
You can discover a variety of sci-fi and fantasy mechanics and abilities. In the adventure, they flee from an impending supernova, dance with a monkey, try out some cool hoverboard tricks, fight an evil kitten and hop on gravity bikes, sand sharks and other mobile vehicles.
Hazelight Studios' flagship feature, the Friends Pass, which allows you to invite friends to play with you for free, also returns and is further expanded with cross-play options for PlayStation, Xbox and PC via Steam.
The makers of It Takes Two have a new co-op adventure called Split Fiction, which is scheduled to be released in March 2025.
