Last week, Pokémon TCG Pocket was launched for mobile devices - and the new game is already immensely successful.
Last week, The Pokémon Company released Pokémon TCG Pocket, a new mobile version of the classic Pokémon trading card game for iOS and Android. This implementation has already paid off, as the game got off to an extremely successful start.
The company confirmed via social media that the title for smartphones and tablets has already been downloaded more than 10 million times worldwide. And the new implementation of the trading card game already seems to be paying off financially.
According to surveys by the analytics platformAppmagicPokémon TCG Pocket has already brought in more than $12 million in sales in the few days since its release.
Other sources further break down the (not officially confirmed) sales. Sam Aune, analyst atSensor Tower, speaks of 1.2 million downloads and $1.9 million in sales on launch day alone. On the second day after release, Sensor Tower's sales are estimated at $2.8 million.
Basically, Pokémon TCG Pocket is free to play and you can build your own decks with Pokémon cards from booster packs in the title. Up to two packs are free per day, but you can unlock additional packs and cosmetic items through in-game purchases. There is also a Battle Pass that costs $9.99 per month and offers special rewards.
