News - Pokémon TCG Pocket: Many details about the upcoming expansion leaked!

The successful Pokémon TCG Pocket is due to receive its next expansion at the end of January - and now a number of details have been revealed.

Since the release of Pokémon TCG Pocket in October last year, the digital version of the trading card game for mobile platforms has turned out to be an absolute success, which has already brought in crazy sales. So it's no wonder that DeNA has long been working on new content to keep players engaged.

While a new massive launch event around Psychic Pokémon started today, the next big card add-on after “Mysterious Island” should be available at the end of January. According to the well-known and reliable leaker Pyoro, the new booster expansion will be larger than “Mysterious Island” and will focus on Generation 4 Pokémon.

While “Mysterious Island” still had 86 new cards to offer, the new add-on will provide around 170 fresh cards and will noticeably change and shake up the meta of the trading card game. Contrary to previous speculation, the expansion does not consist of three different booster packs, but two. You should have the choice between the legendary Gen 4 Pokémon Dialga and Palkia, which are shown on the packages.

The leaker also reports that the booster packs will be released on January 30th, 2025. Previous speculation was based on January 29th, but it may well be that both reports are basically correct - depending on the time zone the leakers are referring to relate.

The trading feature is expected to be introduced with the new booster expansion; how this works in detail. Pyoro had also previously leaked these details online.
