Remake, remaster, success, disaster?Remastered was published more or less surprisingly at the beginning of this week. Despite the name, the players wondered whether they were really dealing with a remaster or a remake here. After all, Bethesda not only advertised with improved graphics, but also numerous playful adjustments. So what stamp can you put on the whole thing?
So Bethesda didn't want a remake
In view of the many innovations, the question arises whether we are actually only dealing with a remaster. Could the Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered be a remake? Bethesda comments on this topic and explains that you never plan to develop a remake of Oblivion. Nevertheless, the now almost 20 year old game should feel modern.
Bethesda writes in a statement that it is the same role play that you know from 2006. However, the development effort was not exactly small.
"We were very lucky to work with an incredible team and partners at virtuoso. Although this was not our first collaboration, we have never worked on this extent."
"Every part of the art, every animation, every special effect and every part of the world has been released. Some new dialogues were recorded, but the originals were preserved. The game systems were adapted so that they felt better. The level systems were updated for a more smooth course and more balance. We have looked at every detail. Above all, we never wanted to change the core. earlier era and should feel that way. "
After all, you do not have to plan any additional costs for DLCs at the remaster. The two major story extensions are already included in the main game. When buying, you can choose between two editions- the standard and digital deluxe edition, which gives you a few cosmetic objects and extras for ten euros.
