The die has been cast: The long-awaited sequel, Hogwarts Legacy 2, is now apparently in production. Warner Bros. has now made this clear.
The Harry Potter title Hogwarts Legacy has proven to be an absolute hit, selling over 30 million copies worldwide and was considered one of the most important releases in 2023. In the past, Warner Bros. has already hinted that Hogwarts Legacy will continue - and now Hogwarts Legacy 2 is now apparently in production. After CFO Gunnar Wiedenfalls recently mentioned that a possible sequel could be important for the company in the future, President David Haddad has now also commented on this in a major articleVarietyon the subject of Harry Potter 2.0.
Haddad revealed that Hogwarts Legacy 2 is now actively in development and emphasized that the game is "a very high priority" at Warner Bros. "We've known for some time that fans want more things in this world, and so we spend a lot of time thinking about that. Our insights tell us that there aren't big differences between younger and older fans. They just are "We're just big Harry Potter fans and we're trying to create an authentic experience to make them happy," Haddad continued.
There are currently no further details about the sequel to Hogwarts Legacy, but Haddad hinted that the game could also have references to an upcoming Harry Potter TV series on HBO. This series adaptation is still a bit of a mystery, but is in the works.
