News - Hitman 3: Conor McGregor is thrown out of the game

Collaborations with well-known personalities are no longer uncommon in games, but in the case of Conor McGregor IO Interactive is now pulling the ripcord and for good reasons.

The collaboration with UFC fighter Conor McGregor is over. McGregor was added to Hitman 3 as an "Elusive Target" over the summer and reappeared in the game this month. But that has now come to an end, the athlete is completely removed from the game and the cooperation has been terminated.

The reason for this is plain and simple: Conor McGregor was found guilty by a jury in Ireland of sexually assaulting a woman in 2018. McGregor will not face prison time, but the court ruled that the fighter must pay the woman $257,000 in damages. In a now-deleted tweet, McGregor claimed he would appeal the decision.

IO Interactive commented on the incident in a statement on . For this reason, starting today, we will begin removing all content featuring Mr. McGregor from our stores."

Conor McGregor is no slouch when it comes to run-ins with the law. In April 2018, McGregor and his entourage attacked a bus transporting UFC fighters, injuring several people. He was charged with assault and criminal damage. McGregor has committed several traffic violations, including speeding and driving without a license. He was arrested several times and had to pay fines.

With MMA star Conor McGregor you can now hunt a new Elusive Target in Hitman: World of Assassination.
