News - Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: Squid game crossover causes massive criticism

Actually, crossover campaigns in Call of Duty are always a reason to be in a good mood - as long as the game's credibility isn't torpedoed by silly designs. Fans were looking forward to the collaboration with Netflix and the Squid Game brand, but now they are rather disappointed.

Activision probably imagined it differently: Fans are massively upset about the crossover between Call of Duty and the Netflix hit show Squid Game. But the reason for this is not the content, which is actually quite pleasing.

Instead, the community is upset about monetization. Because certain event rewards are hidden behind the paywall. You can only get them if you buy the Premium Battle Pass for 1,100 COD points, which corresponds to around 9.99 euros.

Among other things, you have to put in your pocket for content such as the operator “Front Man”, several weapon blueprints with tracers such as “High Authority” and “Boss Orders”, the finishing move “Roped In” and other cosmetic goodies such as additional emotes and equipment skins grab. This makes fans very angry with a full-price title.

There was already criticism of the Battle Pass in advance and the community hoped that Activision would reconsider the decision. Apparently that's not the case and now more and more voices are being heard who don't understand the need to pay for all the content of a promotion.

After all, the collaboration also offers some cool game modes and other content that you get for free. For example, you can try the “Red Light, Green Light” game known from the series. There are also various suitable challenges waiting for you in Warzone.

Somehow wantsjust can't really get out of step. While the start was very satisfactory, the number of players continues to dwindle. This is due to a lack of content and also anti-cheat problems. Let's hope the studio gets the problems under control.

A new cross-over promo with Squid Game has started in the current Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
