From October 14, 2025, Microsoft ends the supply of Windows 10 with updates and technical support. The following updates are no longer available:
- Security updates
- Quality updates
- New or updated functions

Can I continue to use Windows 10?
Yes, the functionality of the operating system is not directly influenced by the end of support.
However, since the operating system becomes increasingly uncertain due to the lack of updates over time and the likelihood of compatibility problems increases, it is not recommended to continue using Windows 10 permanently after the end of support.
Is there a way to get longer updates?
Yes, but only for a fee via Microsoft's program for extended security updates (ESU) and for a maximum of one year as a private individual.

Can I switch to Windows 11 for free?
Yes, if you have a license for Windows 10, you can generally switch to Windows 11 free of charge.
If, on the other hand, the new purchase of a license for Windows 11 is necessary, it currently costs around 130 euros.
Important:Since the, it may be that a PC or notebook with Windows 10 is not officially compatible with the latest Windows version.

- It is easiest to change by opening the update function of Windows 10 (settings> data protection and security> Windows update) and clicks the right button there. But this is only possible if your computer meets the minimum requirements.
