The studio Moonshot Games, consisting of former Blizzard veterans, has officially announced a new online shooter with Wildgate.
The developer Monshot Games is part of Dreamhaven, the new studio of the former Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime and other former sizes of the cult developer of popular ranks such as Starcraft, Warcraft and Diablo-and this has now officially presented his debut project. This bears the name Wildgate and is described as a "crew-based first-person shooter".
Behind it is an online shooter that is supposed to combine both PVE and PvP elements. Gamers compete in teams and also have to collect resources away from the fights, manage extraction missions and more. The gameplay should be unpredictable and also a bit chaotic.
You take on the role of so -called prospectors, which search through the wrecks in space and look for an old relic called Artifact. To win with your own team, you have to escape an anomaly known as a reach through the eponymous wild gate - or switch off all other prospectors with which you will deal in a game. Many different tactics should be ways to win. You can also monitor REACH through probes and scout, send loot expeditions, board or sabotage ships of the opponents and more.
There are a number of different characters to choose from, each with their own skills and tools. There should also be a considerable number of spaceships. The Anomalie Reach is re -generated in every game, so that no game should feel like the previous one.
There will be a preview play test in the period from April 10th to 14th, 2025. The full version will be released in the course of 2025 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X/S.
Dreamhaven was founded in 2020 by Mike Morhaime, two years after leaving at Blizzard Entertainment, where he had previously worked for more than 27 years. The developer studio Moonshot, which belongs to Dreamhaven, is listed by producer Jason Chayes (Hearthstone, Starcraft II), designer Dustin Browder (Starcraft II, Heroes of the Storm) and Artist Ben Thompson (Hearthstone, World of Warcraft).
