Into the dead: An unknown zombie game shows everyone how it works right

In Into the Dead, the zombie apocalypse is finally threatening again.

Does anyone remember the glorious time when you were laughed at in the school yard when you missed the Walking Dead episode? Games likeThe Last of UsLet us go away on and horn off our sofas. And theTelltale games from TWDpresented us with moral abysses in the midst of hopeless binding mills.

The heyday of the zombie genre gave us some unforgettable moments, but at some point it all caught us:We have become indomitable heroes of the apocalypseAnd nothing could stop us anymore. And that was somehow ... boring.

But that could end very soon, because I have with meInto the Dead: Our Darkest DaysA game found that put me back on this wonderful time.On steamthe detailed demo is currently playable free of charge and I can promise:It's worth it.

That's what INTO The Dead is about: Our Darkest Days

Into the dead is not a blank slate. Pikpok developers have already made a name for themselves with the brand on the mobile phone game market. But before she snorts with your nose: The Darkest Days follows a completely new approach. While you run through the zombie apocalypse endlessly in the cell phone games, it is hereon dense atmosphere and strategic approachset.

In Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days I am shipped to the wild 80s. "Wild" is to be understood literally here, because a zombie eruption keeps the Texas small town of Walton City in suspense.

In the sidescroller Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days you sneak through disgusting zombie hordes

My job is to maneuver a group of survivors through the catastrophe. That means: Find and expand a safe place to stay, go on looting tours and of course keep knocking zombies around. If that were only so easy ...

The title takes place from the side view that may be one or the other of youThis War of MineReminded. And indeed: in the basic mechanics, the two games are very similar. So if you like this War of Mine, you will probably also find it good.

In the demo, I choose one from five pairs of survival at the start of the game. Every survivor has their own strengths and weaknesses, which I have to use profitably. As soon as the game really starts, I have to prove how good I am in it.

So I assign tasks to my protégés every day. This can be, for example, building barricades in shelter or cooking meals. For the brave, there is the special item as a looter, in which I control individual survivors in their tours through the city in real time.

I sneak into buildings, search for helpful resources, food and weapons, and meet tons of zombies. And that is exactly what makes Into The Dead really well.

I didn't like to have zombies chasing for a long time

During the demo it becomes clear to me relatively quickly:There is no trouble with these cakes. They are quick, react to noises and can really do aua. And in most cases I am just some average dulli that, with luck, ends up with the baseball bat. But if more than two zombies have recorded my track, the light can run out very quickly.

Only one thing helps: barefoot shoes put on and carefully typed past the undead. But even when I am extremely focused, I always find myself in unforeseen situations. It is not every room Taghell lit and the zombies tend to hide in the darkest corners.

So I keep sitting on the edge of the chair and lausche strenuously the fateful background of the noise. Everywhere it whimpers and gurgles, but wherever it comes from, it can rarely be identified. And Schwupps: You are already surrounded by the undead fieslings. It becomes critical when the weapon breaks in the middle of the struggle for survival.

So I was forced to flee more than once during playing. Even if this and there certainly saved my life here and there, I only accepted it under vehement teeth. Because where the apocalypse has moved, "loot" is only just behind "survival" on my list of priorities. But greed is a bad survival coach, as I found.

Due to the urge to search the back corner of the Arcade Hall or petrol station quickly, I have sent more than one of my characters to safe death. The perfidious is that this can no longer be undone.Dead is dead.In these cases, I only have hope to meet more survivors soon. Because you only have a chance together.

More about the Steam Next Fest

So far I have had a lot of fun with Into The Dead and the demo already delivers a lot of content. If you want to try all couples, you are good at busy for a few hours. The card also offers a wide range of varied environments that even recover one or two secrets.

I just like to be someone again who is not there to save the world. It is enough for me if I stay alive until evening.
