1. Fight Mythal

2. Convince Mythal

Why fight dragons when talking is such a nice alternative?Mythal can be convinced in conversationto give you their essence voluntarily, provided you use the right words in conversation. Since this part of her essence is stubborn and doesn't like flattery, it's not that easy.

Speak to her and select the option in the first dialog boxI want your help. This is how you start the conversation. After a few lines you will be presented with five possible answers. You have to exhaust several options from one to four. The order is not important. But don't choose the fifth answer option:This starts the fight against Mythal and denies you the diplomatic option.

And here are the four correct answers:

  • We must stop the depravity: In this section you talk to Mythal about the corruption and the importance of stopping it. Reply with1. You fought them.
  • We have to stop the gods: You discuss with Mythal's essence that the gods want to destroy the world. Gain their favor by2. You have been wrongedselects. This way you don't upset her and the conversation continues.
  • We are worthy: Here Mythal asks you what being a protector means to you. The correct answer is3. It means creating a safe place. Because nothing else matters to them.
  • Solas is helping me: This statement is dangerous territory, after all Solas betrayed Mythal even though they were close. Choose the answer hereForget him. This brings Mythal to his realization.

If you pass three of four statements in a row, you prove yourself worthy of Mythal and she voluntarily gives you her essence. You will also receive a unique item as a gift.

Beware, spoilers: Complete the mission (via combat or conversation) before facing the Corrupted Dragon in the questHeart of Depravityprovides. Because then Mythal comes to your aid in the boss fight and inflicts enormous damage on the Corrupted Dragon - this makes the level 50 boss fight much easier for you.
