"Buffy - the spell of the demons" is one of the best series of the 1990s and early 2000s for some. The first episode ran on March 10, 1997 through the US television screens.

In many ways, Buffy was a pioneer - also in the use of a certain word that could only make it through the growing spread and popularity of the Internet in our general use of language: the wordGoogle.

"Did you google her?"

Buffy's girlfriend Willow Buffy asked the question in the fourth episode of the seventh season »Help«. In it, Buffy hits a girl who thinks he will have to die soon.

What seems quite normal today was a real university to broadcast the episode 2002, at least on TV. The word had already arrived in language use, supposedly Google co-founder Larry Page even used it since 1998.

Charles Arthur, drums highDigital WarsHowever, claims that this is the first use of the verb "google" in common pop culture. This is taken up by the news page, among other thingsNews.comthat quotes that book.

We have been using the verb »googling« in Germany for quite a long time. According to Duden, it means »search with Google® on the Internet, research«.

It has been there for 21 years: in 2004 the publisher recorded the word in the Duden in accordance withPC Welt, precisely because the vernacular used it so often.
