Over 8,000 parts, 11 motors & pneumatics everywhere you look – this technology set has no right to be so cheap!

Large technology sets have no longer been LEGO's strength. Too few parts and too few functions for too much money. That's why alternatives like Mold King, whose sets are brimming with functionality, are becoming increasingly popular. So does this oneRemote controlled truck with pneumatic crane, consisting of over 8,000 parts! You can currently get it significantly cheaper on Amazon.

More parts and functions than LEGO – but still cheaper?

When you look at the Mold King 19002 truck crane, the obvious comparison comes to mind with the LEGO Technic set 8258, which is also a motorized truck with a crane. The LEGO set is now over ten years oldonly sparsely found. But the similarity between the two sets is unmistakable. LEGO has not released a set like this since the set was discontinued in 2011.

The LEGO set consists of 2,075 pieces, while the Mold King equivalent has a whopping 8,238 LEGO-compatible pieces! Today you can only get the LEGO setfor €600 at Kaufland & eBayorused for €323.99 on Amazon. In contrast, the €300 that Mold King paid for his new setwith four times the number of partscalls, really cheap.

You pay an impressive 29 cents per part for a new version of the LEGO set, while a new individual part from Mold King only costs you 4 cents on average. The reason for this cannot be the quality of the stones, because it is impressive:The accuracy of fit and clamping force regularly exceed that of the market leader, who is increasingly struggling with different color tones in his new sets.

Unlike the original LEGO set, Mold King's truck is fully remote controlled. You can do the setcontrol both via the app and the included remote control– a decision that LEGO has never given you before.

Due to the sheer size of the vehicle, a total of eleven engines are required to operate it:From the drive, steering, extending and retracting the pneumatic supports to operating the large crane arm– the fun hardly ends here. The cab can also be tilted to reveal the running engine underneath.

My personal highlight arethe front axles, which both steerwhen you hit. Just like in real life, the rear axle turns less strongly to enable the colossus to corner as smoothly as possible - pure enjoyment for technology enthusiasts!
