is just over a week old and Treyarch has already rolled up its sleeves to address some of the community's biggest problems. The new patch from November 4th, 2024 fixes snaking, blinding flashbangs and the weapon meta that has gone wild. The update also addresses two assault rifles that were banned by pros in their matches because they were so powerful.

- Snaking:The devs have finally taken action: That annoying snake movement, in which players switch between crouching and lying down like hyperactive reptiles, has been toned down. Now there are longer cooldowns when changing stances. The developers themselves say: “enough with snaking”.
- SMG love and AR nerfs:SMGs have been buffed, i.e. improved, and now perform better at medium distances. Assault rifles have been nerfed for this: there is less damage range and weakened headshots for virtually the entire class.
- Flash grenades:Flashbangs have their reputation as “total failure grenades”. hard earned, especially on smaller maps like Nuketown. The duration of the blinding effect has been reduced by 20%. So you can see something even without a perk.
- Fixed Slug Shotguns: A bug with slug ammo that is too glaringled was fixed.

Banned Weapons Nerf:With the update, the two of them also became professionalsweakened. In Competitive Pro Players, no one was allowed to play the XM4 and Model L assault rifles. Both now do less damage (XM4 from 22 to 21 and Model L from 29 to 27).

Why do we say nerf? and ?buffen??
When an update makes a weapon or class in a video game weaker, we're talking about oneNerf. This is supposed to come from the Nerf guns, the toy guns, which only shoot with harmless foam material. ABuffOn the other hand, something reinforces something that comes from the English word ?to buff?, which means something like ?to polish up? means in German.
It remains to be seen whether the changes will bring the desired balance peace. One thing is clear: Treyarch has listened to the community and is diligently delivering updates to keep Black Ops 6 fresh and fair.
