Will / Spirit is a new and powerful resource in Path of Exile 2. ingame.de has collected all the important information.
InIt is possible to use Will on some skills so that they are permanently active. However, the action RPG reveals little about how you can increase this resource. What is will good for?Basically, there are three major fields of application, with the “Witch” class in particular relying on will, as it can be used to summon creatures:
- Permanent creatures
- Permanent skills
- Meta skills
The will for certain skills is reserved. You usually get the corresponding skills via Will gems, but there are also normal skills, such as the witch's summons, that reserve Will. The Will bonuses sometimes offer very strong support skills such as permanent strengthening auras or burning skulls, which are activated together with fire area attacks and attack opponents.

How do you increase will reserves?At the start of the campaign, your hero is equipped with 0 Will. Items, bosses and the passive abilities of certain class ascendants ensure an increase in willpower. At the forefront are the off-hand weapons “scepters”, which pack at least 100 Will into your pool:
- Other sources
- Scepter always 100 Will (can drop with +% Will)
- Sun amulets
- Body armor
- Jewels for passive tree
- Unique Items
- Ascendant (Witch, Monk)
- Bosses for permanent bonus
- Act 1: Freydorn (King in the Mists) – 30 Will
- Act 3: Das Azak-Moor (Ignagduk, die Moorhexe) – 30 Wille
- Cruel Act 3: The Azak Moor (Ignagduk, the Moor Witch) – 40 Will
If you want to bet everything on will, you should consider the “Infernalist” ascendant of the witch. Here there is +1 Will for every 25 of maximum life. With 2,500 lives, that adds up to another 100 wills. The monk ascendant “Invoker” can increase will in proportion to the energy shield and evasion value, but then no longer receives will from items. Path of Exile 2: Think about skill assignment!
What does that mean?If you include a skill that requires Will, you still need to activate that skill. On the console you have to select the skill and press “Square” (PS) or “X” (Xbox). Then you come to an extra menu and have listed all the will skills that can be activated. On PC you have to press the top icon of a skill. When the skill is activated, it has a glowing frame.
If you plan a build without using a lot of Will, you will have at least 100 Will available after the campaign through the optional bosses. You shouldn't plan for more than that. Will builds with full focus can sometimes reach 500 Will or more, but they have to accept compromises in other areas..
