Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom devs reveal deleted content that would have changed everything - Link with voice, really!

Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom lets us play as the eponymous princess, but Link is also part of the story.

In the Zelda titles, we never actually play the eponymous princess, but usually play as Link. And this bold warrior with the green clothes doesn't normally say a word. In many parts it is hinted at by his gestures, but Link has never really been heard before.

That should actually finally change both. At least that was the plan, but ultimately nothing came of it. Instead, we even got an explanation for not speaking.

That's what it's about:Along with Hyrule Warriors and Cadence of Hyrule, Zelda Echoes of Wisdom is the first game in which we can really control the princess. She even experiences her very own adventure here and finally steps out of Link's shadow. Of course he still plays a role in the title, but doesn't speak? as usual. But that should actually be different.

What was planned?Director Satoshi Terada and producer Eiji Aonuma revealed that they wanted Link to speak in their game. At the beginning of development there were already some written lines of dialogue for Link, but it would have felt "really strange" and "just not right" (via:GameRant).

What exactly would have been saidand how the whole thing would have fit into the game is unfortunately not revealed. The only thing that is certain is that the development team ultimately changed its mind and Link remains silent.

Now there are even reasons for it:Instead of letting Link speak in this Zelda game, this time a reason was found and incorporated that explains his quiet nature., according to which Link lost his ability to speak through one of the nasty rifts he was sucked into.

Even though a large part of the fascination of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom is of course not playing as Link, but as Zelda, there is a way in which you can continue playing as Link after the tutorial.

To do this, however, you have to manipulate your scores and, in case of doubt, you can even lose them. You should only try the glitch at your own risk and only if you have no problem with the possible consequences.

What do you think about the fact that Link was supposed to speak at first and then it was canceled? What would you have him say?
