It wasn't long ago that we came across thea first insight intohave received. The reveal trailer introduces Geralt's foster daughter Ciri as the game's new protagonist and allows her to show what she's made of. This includes her skillful use of weapons, one of which is suspiciously reminiscent of Geralt's early days.
Ciri fights with a chain - like Geralt in the first Witcher trailer
Witcher fans should have known for a long time that Ciri is a gifted fighter. Everyone else will have noticed this in the reveal trailer for The Witcher 4 at the latest.
In the fight against a so-called Bauk, she spares neither expense nor effort and proves her learned craft as a sorcerer by preparing herself for the coming fight with a potion. She then heats up the Bauk with her sword before grabbing a chain to finish off the monster.
From minute 04:25 you can see the corresponding point in the trailer where Ciri takes out her necklace:
In an official oneAnalyse-VideoOn YouTube, game director Sebastian Kalemba from CD Projekt RED reveals that this grip on the chain is a conscious homage to the first traileris.
From minute 03:05 you can see in the video below how Geralt also takes out a chain in the fight against a striga to fight the monster.

Like father, like daughter:In our opinion, the parallel is successful, even if it picks up a tiny detail from a trailer for a game that was released over 15 years ago.
This just emphasizes again how much Ciri learned from her foster father Geralt during her training to become a witcher. But her own touch is also immediately apparent: she strengthens the chain with a fire spell after she wraps it around the Bauk's neck. Suitable for a student of the sorceress Yennefer.
Ciri is still her own character
As exciting as such homages are and as much as we like to see parallels between Geralt and Ciri, the relationship between the father-daughter pair linked by fate is simply touching,Ciri will not become a pure copy of Geralt. This is also clear in the very first trailer for The Witcher 4.
While Geralt mostly stays calm and keeps a cool head, Ciri doesn't hide her disapproval of the people in the trailer. Even in the later fight against the Bauk it becomes clear that her anger is part of her fighting style. This not only offers explosive material in a wide variety of situations, but also has the potential for an incredibly exciting character.
As always, we're excited to hear the GamePro community's observations:Did you even remember the chains in the trailer or did you even recognize the homage to the first Witcher trailer?
