Suicide Squad is being scrapped: it's over in January, but two great innovations are still to come

Less than a year after the release ofPublisher Warner is pulling the plug on developer Rocksteady's failed live service game. At the end, however, there is a character in the final season that DC fans should be looking forward to and a new mode.

The contents of Season 4 of Suicide Squad

As revealed last week, this is comingDeathstrokeat the start of Season 4from December 10thinto the action game. The Joker, Lawless and Mrs. Freeze were introduced in the previous seasons.

New offline mode is coming:At the start of Season 4, an offline mode will also be added in which you can play the campaign and all season content in the future.

However, if you want to continue playing online in co-op, this is still possible. Warner wants to continue to operate the servers as they are.

The end of Suicide Squad had been apparent for a long time

The fact that Suicide Squad was about to end as a live service game had already become apparent before the release and strong criticism of the action-heavy gameplay. Warner commissioned a game from Rocksteady that caught the interest of the Arkham community.

After a sobering Metacritic score of just 60 points, the player numbers at the time of release (the peak on Steam was just 13,000 players) quickly made it clear that without massive changes to the game, a quick end to the live service game was likely is. The new season characters were everything, just not what a majority of DC fans wanted for the game.

Just a few weeks after the release, it became clear that Rocksteady only had a small team working on Suicide Squad in order to complete the announced four seasons. According to rumors, a large part of the studio is already working on a new version of Hogwarts Legacy.
