The second season ofSolo Levelingwas launched in the winter season 2025 and promises to be one of the most interesting titles from it. After the events of the first season, protagonist Jin-Woo's strength has skyrocketed, leaving us wondering how it will develop in the future.

The reason for this is, among other things, the shadows that support Jin-Woo and allow his fighting strength to grow. We would like to introduce you to the nine most important ones under his command here.

Warning, risk of spoilers!Apart from Igris, the shadows we list here are not yet part of Jin-Woo's shadow army in the manhwa. So if you haven't read the webtoon, you're in spoiler territory here.

The 9 most important shadows for Jin-Woo at a glance

We'll list the Nine Shadows chronologically by when they joined, including their first appearance in the webtoon and their rank when they joined Jin-Woo's army. However, you can find an overview of the strength of the individual shadow ranks here:

The 9 most important shadows of Jin-Woo at a glance

  • Igris
  • Tank
  • Iron
  • Tusk
  • Kaisel
  • I take
  • Jima
  • Greed
  • Bellion

Igris

  • First appearance:Chapter 45 (Manhwa: Episode 12)
  • Rank upon admission:Ritter-Rang

Igris is probably the most prominent shadow under Jin-Woo's command. After the intense battle at the end of the first season, he joins the Shadow Army and enriches them with his powerful skills. He carries a sword with him, which significantly increases his fighting power.

Tank

  • First appearance:Chapter 50
  • Rank upon admission:Elite-Rang

Tank looks like a massive bear and joins Jin-Woo after the encounter at the Red Gate. He is characterized by his high strength and his ability to regenerate.

Iron

  • First appearance:Chapter 54
  • Rank upon admission:Ritter-Rang

Iron is the shadow that emerges from A-rank Hunter Kim Chul. While Jin-Woo succumbs to the Hunter alone at the time of their fight, Igris kills him to gain another powerful member of the Shadow Army for his master. Iron fights with a huge axe.

Tusk

  • First appearance:Chapter 75
  • Rank upon admission:Elite-Ritter-Rang

At the time of his inclusion, Tusk is at the highest rank yet and can compete with S-rank Hunters. He also differs from the others in that he is a powerful magic user. Tusk is created from the orc shaman Kargalgan and does a lot of damage with powerful area attacks.

Kaisel

  • First appearance:Chapter 88
  • Rank upon admission:Ritter-Rang

You see correctly: Jin-Woo's shadow army even includes a wyvern (dragon without arms or with wings as arms). However, the wyvern is less used for combat than it is to support Jin-Woo as a mount from the moment she joins the Shadow Army.

I take

  • First appearance:Chapter 105
  • Rank upon admission:General-Rang

Beru is the shadow that Jin-Woo extracts from the Ant King: a hidden and extremely powerful boss who has many S-rank hunters on his conscience. This also explains why he is at the general rank (the third highest rank) when Jin-Woo takes him into his army. In addition to his immense fighting power, Beru has a variety of abilities, such as paralyzing poison or healing magic.

Jima

  • First appearance:Chapter 122
  • Rank upon admission:Elite-Ritter-Rang

Jima is the shadow of a Naga boss. Nagas are humanoid snake creatures that, like wyverns, also exist outside of the solo leveling universe. Jima fights with a trident and can increase his height many times over.

Greed

  • First appearance:Chapter 147
  • Rank upon admission:General-Rang

Greed is a shadow that once again emerges from another hunter - this time it is the S-rank hunter Hwang Dongsoo, who appears early in Solo Leveling and stands out for his cruel and arrogant personality.

Jin-Woo makes him pay for this after joining the Shadow Army by giving Greed his new name and forcing him to bow to him with his head on the ground.

Bellion

  • First appearance:Chapter 166
  • Rank upon admission:Grand-Marshal-Rang

Bellion was the first Shadow ever created by the previous Shadow Monarch Ashborn and is also the strongest Shadow. That's why he also has the unique Grand Marshal rank at the head of the Shadow Army. The rank also gives Bellion the authority and power to distribute orders to the other Shadows of the army.
