Amazon Gaming has officially announced the new free games for December 2024. You can secure a total of 18 games permanently, and there is a rather unusual highlight that we would like to recommend to you.

Our highlight in December: Dredge
The indie gamebelongs to a rare breed that could be described as “cozy horror”. You can't expect any jump scares, blood or zombies here, but you can expect a pleasantly creepy atmosphere, mixed with mostly relaxed gameplay and farming elements.
With your fishing boat you travel around in a small open world between various remote islands and catch fish. You can sell your scaly loot, along with other treasures and materials that get caught in your nets.
With more money you can expand your ship to be able to catch new types of fish, have more storage space and make your boat seaworthy for more distant places. You can accept quests and tips from the odd NPCs you find in the local ports and villages that will help you.
However, the time of day changes constantly and at night dangerous sea monsters cavort in the waters. Most of the time you can't really defend yourself. So you have to plan your routes cleverly, manage your inventory cleverly and often weigh up the risks, whether you want to risk important items at night that could perhaps go overboard in a monster attack.
Overall, the vibe of Dredge remains relaxed and could be something for you, especially if you like cozy games but are looking for something other than colorful farms with cuddly figurines.
