InIt is currently not possible to exchange cards with each other. The developers have already announced. However, it comes with a few restrictions. The announcement at the time stated that only “certain cards” would be exchangeable.
What exactly these are is still unclear. Now, however, leaker Pyoro has commented on this and revealed which card types/rarity levels will supposedly be exchangeable. His X/Twitter postwas shared by Centro Leaks, among others.
Exchange function should be limited to the following card types
- 1 diamond cards
- 2 diamond cards
- 3 Diamond Cards
- 4 Diamond Cards
- 1-Star Cards (Full-Art Pokémon)
All rarity levels above - for example the full art ex or trainer cards - would therefore be excluded from the exchange function. It is apparently still unclear whether promo cards can be exchanged or not.
Important:This is an unconfirmed rumor!

There are numerous disappointed voices under the post; many had apparently hoped that the exchange function would be more extensive when it was introduced.
For example, this is how User writesebev91:
"God, that's so terrible if it's true."
And other commentators also hope that the higher-level cards will also be exchangeable from the start. Even if this is of course not officially confirmed information, it is already clear that the exchange function will initially be limited to certain types of cards. So all cards will definitely not be exchangeable.
The good news:When announcing the feature, developer DeNa already confirmed that the number of exchangeable cards will be gradually increased. So fans apparently just have to be patient.
More about Pokémon TCG Pocket
Pokémon TCG Pocket was released worldwide on October 30, 2024 and has since been available for free in the Apple and Google app stores. The app itself is Free2Play, although there are optional in-game purchases for real money. There is no specific release date for the exchange function yet, but it should be sometime in January 2025.
Would you think it would be bad if the exchange function was initially limited to the card types mentioned above?
