Path of Exile 2 lets you transfer in-game purchases to other platforms - just not to PS5 and PS4

Path of Exile 2 brings some very practical innovations into the game that also affect microtransactions.

will soon be entering early access, or rather the paid beta. You can combine your accounts beforehand, for example if you have created different accounts on different platforms. The microtransactions can also be transferred, but there is one exception: the PlayStation consoles PS4 and PS5, with which this does not work.

Path of Exile 2: The new account system for microtransactions and the like brings these changes.

That's what it's about:To ensure that the microtransactions are across the boardand Path of Exile 2 apply and so that there are no problems with crossplay, the developer studio Grinding Gear Games is revising the account system.

These changes are coming:

  • Discriminator:To solve the naming confusion once and for all and make it easier to get the name you want, number combinations are being introduced after the account name.
  • Sub-Accounts:You can combine your accounts if, for example, you have one account on the PC and one on the console. So you can play on both platforms. However, thanks to the sub-accounts, your characters remain separated from each other and you can always decide which account you play with.
  • The microtransaction:The in-game purchases you make remain assigned to the respective sub-account. However, with the help of support, you can ensure that the purchases are transferred from one sub-account to another. But you should think carefully about this because they will of course no longer be available on the original account.

Big exception PlayStation:If you have made a microtransaction on the PS4 or PS5, you cannot use it on another platform. Conversely, you cannot use microtransactions that you have purchased on Xbox or PC.
