Where does the rumor come from?VonConsole, a large Finnish electronics dealer. According to the Twitter/X channel "Switch 2 Stock", the Konsolinet online shop already offers Switch 2 foran.
Here the console is listed with an obvious price range of 999 euros (don't worry, the device will not cost much). It is more exciting, however, that consolinet has already mentioned a specific date for the release, namely May 9, 2025.
In contrast to the listed price, this is not a typical placeholder date. Usually only the year or an appointment for placeholder is chosen right at the beginning or at the end of a year or month, such as December 31. May 9th is quite suspicious.
And what makes the whole thing even more exciting:In the meantime, Konsolinet has removed May 9, 2025 from shop listing and now mentions December 31, 2025 as an publication date for Switch 2, so it has replaced the previous date with an obvious placeholder. Means: It could well be that the dealer accidentally rejected the release date and subsequently corrected this error.
Regardless of this, it is not unlikely that the Switch 2 will open in May: Accessory manufacturer Nacon has already limited the release of the new Nintendo console to the first half of the 2025 financial year, which runs from April to September 2025.
Or only a month later?Appointed an appointment in May that several insiders have recently been placed in the room from a release in June. Nintendo also plans a hands-on tour in which players can try out the switch in different cities themselves. This starts on April 4th and ends on June 1st. It makes sense that the Switch 2 will only come onto the market after this hands-on experience.
