We have known since February 2024 at the latest that Microsoft wants to continue producing Xbox consoles in the future.. There is currently no release date, but there is currently speculation about it.
The most recent come from leaker GhostofHope, who said on X (formerly Twitter) that the new Xbox should be released in 2026. He had already made a similar prediction in May 2024 - and also wrote that the 2026 Call of Duty could be a launch title for the console.

Now the leaker is also bringing a name for the console into play. Accordingly, the name for the new Xbox is “Xbox Prime”. It is not clear from the tweet whether this is the final name or just a project name.
Well-connected Xbox insider disagrees
So will we possibly see the new Microsoft console as early as next year?No. At least that's what journalist Jez Corden, who is well connected in Microsoft circles, says.
He replied directly to GhostofHope's tweets that the story was "not true" and that there was "no such thing as an Xbox Prime with a release in 2026" - even if Microsoft is of course working on new hardware.

Corden does not provide any evidence, so – as is often the case – rumored statements stand against rumored statements. Of course, it is difficult to verify this; Microsoft traditionally does not comment on speculation and conjecture. A good dose of skepticism is therefore appropriate - as always with these types of hardware rumors.
This is already known about the new Xbox
Few. Very little actually. Actually, all that is certain so far is that it will exist – whenever. And at least technically we seem to have a pretty powerful device on our hands. Sarah Bond, President of Xbox, saidnamely:
“We are focused on creating the biggest technological leap in a hardware generation ever.”
