WithThe new PvP shooter with characters from the popular comic universe was released on December 6th. At launch there are a whopping 33 heroes represented in the game. Most of them are well received, but one is already a thorn in the side of the community.
Everyone hates Jeff
That's what it's about:The Marvel Rivals community is of course already busy discussing which characters are the best and who should be nerfed or buffed. One character causes particularly intense discussions: Jeff the Landshark!
The little land shark is probably the cutest and strangest character in the whole game. He can dive into the ground and is therefore quite difficult to catch, but otherwise only does moderate damage. His ultimate is one of the strongest in the entire game.
Jeff then disappears into the ground and swallows both opponents and teammates within a radius of ten meters. Teammates are healed and enemies take damage. In addition, Jeff can decide for himself when and where to spit out the heroes, i.e. blow them off the map. In theory, he can take out the entire lobby.

So while some people hate Jeff, others of course particularly like him. For example, Jeff hums the tune from "Jaws" when he dives, spits out bubbles and reloads by eating a fish. Plus, he just looks pretty cute.
Everything about Marvel Rivals
The integration and implementation of Jeff is definitely a smart move from Marvel. With the combination of appearance and ultimate, it was basically foreseeable that there would be intense discussions and strong emotions in the community. And of course this keeps the game in the conversation.
