If you follow Shonen Jump manga,Kagurabachiprobably didn't pass you by. The manga was so popular after just six chapters that it almost surpassed One Piece in the popularity rankings of the official Shonen Jump websiteManga Plusovertaken and became an internet sensation almost overnight.
Kagurabachi anime could appear on Netflix
Just a few days ago, news broke that Kagurabachi was getting an anime. The magazineToyo Keizaihas shared an insider report, according to which the advertising company CyberAgent and the film company Shochiku have joined forces for the adaptation.
You can read more about the upcoming anime adaptation in the following article by colleague Myki:
Now fans suspect that this adaptation could end up on Netflix sooner or later. The streaming provider's Japanese X account opened a few days agoa videoshared that celebrates the Shonen Jump offering on its own platform.
At minute 00:21 in the video, a manga panel from Kagurabachi can be seen for less than a second, showing the protagonist Chihiro with his sword drawn.
The Kagurabachi fans also show directly in the comments under the X post that they noticed the manga panel in the short video and pack theirs to matchMemesout of. A phenomenon that the manga also brings with it.
Is the anime adaptation of Kagurabachi coming to Netflix?
Please treat the information with caution, as concrete confirmation is still pending. So it may be pure coincidence that the insider report and the corresponding Netflix video appeared at a similar time. In addition, it could just as well be that both Shonen Jump anime and manga are celebrated in the video without the latter necessarily having to get an adaptation.
Nevertheless, we think this is one too many coincidences to dismiss as a meaningless rumor. That's why we're looking forward to the future and waiting to see whether an announcement will come from Netflix or the anime industry.
If the insider report is correct and production of the Kagurabachi anime starts now, it could appear as early as next year. And - if it really appears on Netflix - then hopefully with a successful German dub here too.
