Dragon Ball has a large cast of characters. It's no surprise that the family tree of the individual characters is also quite large. If we take a closer look at the relatives of the protagonist and Saiyan warrior Son Goku, we even see that the Z Fighter has some relatives that not every DB fan knows.
Son Goku's family extends even further than his granddaughter Pan
Son Goku's original and real Saiyan name is actually Kakarot. He got his name “Son Goku” from his adoptive grandfather Gohan, who found him as a baby in a capsule and raised him.
Son Goku is the second son of the two Saiyans Bardock and Gine, who sent him to Earth for safety after an attack on their planet. He is also the younger brother of the first son Raditz.
During the course of the story of Dragon Ball, Son Goku then marries the daughter of the cattle devil and fighter Chi Chi. Together with her, Son Goku later has two sons, Son Gohan and Son Goten.
Through Gohan's marriage to Videl, she also became part of his family as his daughter-in-law. Son Gohan and Videl's daughter Pan is the granddaughter of Son Goku, who would actually complete the family tree.
However, there are at least two other characters related to the Saiyan warrior that you may not have heard of:Goku Jr (Dragon Ball GT) und Beat (Super Dragon Ball Heroes).
- Goku Jr is from Dragon Ball GT and was revealed to be a distant descendant of Son Goku in a conversation between Bulma and Chi Chi's descendants at the end of the series.
- Beat, also known as the Saiyan Hero, is an Earthling who uses the advanced time travel technology of the Dragon Ball Heroes machines from Super Dragon Ball Heroes. In the “World Mission” he is also revealed to be a descendant of Son Goku.
Important note:Since there are often discussions among the community in relation to the canon plot in Super Dragon Ball Heroes and especially in Dragon Ball GT, these two characters would be related to Son Goku in their associated universes and stories, but whether they are officially related to the actual one The plot of Dragon Ball is controversial.
