A new episode of has been released almost every week since October 11thDragon Ball Daima. We only have to wait a week longer for episode 13, as the anime takes a short break around the turn of the year and will continue on January 10th on ADN and Crunchyroll.
Even before the first episode was broadcast, news leaked outofficial sourcesby the fact that Daima is around 20 episodes strong and will therefore be completed at the end of February. But is that really the case? A new statement at least makes us suspicious.
Does Dragon Ball Daima have more than 20 episodes?
The reason for our skepticism is a recent oneRadio-Interviewwith Dragon Ball producer Akio Iyoku as part of the brand's 40th anniversary.
When asked how long Daima will run, Iyoku did not want to reveal when the last episode will be released or how long the anime will continue. What initially sounds sobering could mean much more.
According to Toei Animation, Daima is namelyand they are already planning what will happen next with the Dragon Ball anime.
However, since such a big secret continues to be kept around the last episode or the end of Daima at such an advanced point in the anime - at least if we assume around 20 episodes -This could mean four things:
- After 20 episodes, only the first season of Dragon Ball Daima ends
- Daima runs much longer than previously assumed
- Daima seamlessly transitions into a new Dragon Ball series that sits between DBZ and DB Super
- Daima ties in seamlessly with Dragon Ball Super and finally continues the anime that has been on hiatus for years
Our assessment is that Dragon Ball Daima will come to an end as a standalone anime after 20 to 24 episodes, but the events surrounding Mini-Goku will be continued immediately afterwards either in a new series or in Super.
So we'll see relatively soon what plans Toei Animations has been making for months.
