Free updates: New characters, more building space and roadmap 2025
TheSew Delightful-Updatewas revealed: AsSally moves the next figureto Dreamlight Valley and joins her partner Jack from A Nightmare Before Christmas. To unlock her, you must team up with Jack and develop a plan for her return.

What are Flying Islands?
Behind this feature, which will be added on December 4th, there are free areas for building that you can access separately from the main map via fast travel. The size of the islands should be comparable to the known biomes, but there are no ponds, structures or rocks that could restrict you.
Each of the known biomes should have a flying alternative. This allows you to decide whether you would rather build under the blue skies of the Peaceful Meadow or the spooky atmosphere of the Forgotten Land. All environments will gradually be added via updates. We start with the four variants Main Square, Forest, Sun and Frost. You unlock new islands with dream shards.
What about the item limit?What's particularly cool is that the Flying Islands have their own item limit that is independent of your main village. So if you've already stuffed everything with you, you'll get itfinally more spaceto build!

New expansion: Storybook Vale revealed
In addition to the free updates, there will also be a second major, paid expansion. It is called Storybook Vale and, as already indicated, revolves around the two villains Hades from Hercules and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.
While the first expansion A Rift in Time was released in three parts, the second addon gets Storybook Valetwo parts, which should each be larger. Overall, the development team promises a comparable amount of content, which will only be published in a shorter period of time. As with the first DLC, you buy the Expansion Pass, which contains both parts.
The most important key data about Storybook Vale:
- Release Part 1:20. November 2024
- Release Part 2:Sommer 2025
- Preis:30 Euro
- New map:The Storybook Vale consists of three new biomes called The Bind, Mythopia and Everafter.
- New main quest:Save the Storybook Vale, once ruled peacefully by Hades and Maleficent until the two fell out.
- New feature:Trials. There weren't many details here yet, but it seems to be a kind of puzzle dungeon.
- New items:Confirmed items include library furniture, mushroom trees, ancient Greek-style clothing and “dozens” of new recipes.
Let's hope that Gameloft also does this with the expansion. It swellsalready over at this point in time.
In addition, five characters have already been confirmed in the showcase that you can unlock in the expansion.
All confirmed characters in Storybook Vale:
- Hades
- Merida
- Flynn
- Malefiz (in Part 2)
- Sleeping Beauty (part 2)
You can bring Hades, Merida and Flynn into your valley directly in the first part. It was also announced for all three that they each bring their own building that you can place with you. It remains to be seen whether more characters will be added to Part 2 alongside Maleficent and Sleeping Beauty.
