Stalker 2 has two main goals: It wants to be better, bigger and prettier than all of its predecessors combined. At the same time, it also wants to attract newcomers. Not a bad idea, after all the last offshoot Call of Prypjat was 15 years ago. Colleague Natalie from GameStar visited the developers GSC Game World in Prague and was able to try out the first three hours of Stalker 2. And if the section we play is representative of the entire game, then we have a lot to look forward to. In addition to Natalie's detailed preview, you will also find a video from Jonas, who was also in Prague and has a lot to tell you.

A year ago, the Gamescom demo of Stalker 2 left a technically poor impression. At gamescom 2024, Géraldine will now discuss with Fabiano, Micha and Steffen from the Rocket Beans whether that has changed and what we hope (or fear) from Stalker 2.

Be it gamescom, E3 or the Game Awards - a big highlight of these events are the shadow drops, games that are announced and released straight away. On the other side of the scale are the games we have to wait years and decades for. But which game actually had the longest development time and why? Plus: Over 40 years later: Why someone is still developing games for C64, Amiga and NES today Most people probably immediately think of Duke Nukem Forever. But with 14 years from initial announcement to release, this game is actually nowhere near the top of our list. We'll tell you in the video why games are so late - and why it sometimes even makes sense to announce games very early - and which one we had to wait the longest for. By the way, we've already made a similar video: Duke Nukem, StarCraft 2 & Co. - When games take a little longer. Unfortunately, we're waiting in vain for a lot of games. Here you will find the videos whose development was stopped in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. Which game have you waited the longest for? Write it to us in the comments!

Stalker 2 promised a lot: an open world, a story that was as free as possible, dynamic day-night change, NPC daily routines, nerve-wracking battles and all of this in chic Unreal Engine 5 splendor! When it was first played in 2023, the role-playing shooter looked really great, but was in a poor technical condition. Developer GSC Game World reacted promptly and postponed the shooter. And lo and behold: the delay actually bears fruit! My colleague Dimi played a current demo of the shooter and can give the first all-clear. Stalker 2 ran almost smoothly in the preview version and exudes a unique atmosphere even in the short play time. We summarize Dimi's most important findings for you in this video.
