While CD Project Red in Europe diligentlyWorking in the US offices is already being worked on a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. This is currently wearing the code name ""And the developers have hardly revealed any information.
Already last year we had over onethat promised a more lively open world. A new job display may now reveal more about the planned content in the new RPG.
More realistic crowds in Night City
Job advertisements are of course not necessarily an image of what the finished game will end up. However, you can provide information on which goals the respective studio pursue and what standards are targeted. And in the case of the newthey are obviously quite high.
That is advertised:We are looking for the new oneTenderA "Lead Encounter Designer" for the team in Boston. The person is said to work with several departments to improve any gameplay encounter.
The daily tasks that come to the respective person then provide more information. Among other things, it says:
"Work closely with the system design team to develop the most realistic and reactive crowd system that has been in one game so far."
However, what that could mean exactly is unclear. Perhaps players as in Red Dead Redemption 2 should be able to address all NPCs or the passers -by in large crowds should react more realistically to the main figures' actions. For example, when it crashes.
Cyberpunk 2077 always managed to make the Open World appear very lively and organic, but there are other games, especially in the reactions of the NPCs, that can do it much better.
Road traffic in particular was often disappointing compared to the significantly older GTA 5 and it is quite possible that the GTA 6, which will be released this year, puts a decent shovel on it again. The CD Projekt Red project is therefore quite ambitious.
Nevertheless, it is easy to see that the developers place high demands on the cyberpunke sequel and recognized where the weaknesses of the first part were.
What do you think about it? Do you want a more lively open world for the next cyberpunk or would you prefer a linear approach?
