I could literally hear the screams of joy. Than on thenew offshoots of Onimusha andwere announced, many fans of these games must have cheered loudly. I'm happy for them and I'm particularly excited about Okami 2, as the first part is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played.
Personally, the return of another Capcom series would make me cheer loudly. Because as a big fan of the first two Dino Crisis games - I'll just skip the very mixed third part - I sincerely hope that Capcom dusts off this fantastic mix of action and horror as quickly as possible.
Please stop playing with my feelings
My hopes have flared up several times in recent years - most recently in 2022, when it seemed as if Capcom would announce...consciously play with my feelings and the feelings of all other Dino Crisis fans.
But a recent Capcom statement is giving me REALLY high hopes right now - especially after the recent Onimusha and Okami announcements. The company's investor relations page states:
"In addition to releasing new titles on a regular basis each year, Capcom is focusing on reactivating dormant IPs that have not released a new title recently."
“Dormant IPs that haven’t released a new title recently” – well, if that doesn’t apply perfectly to Dino Crisis! I wouldn't even need a completely new part. A remake of the fantastic first part would be completely enough for me.
Capcom has the famous onesThey have already proven that they can do new editions very well. For me, a suitably trimmed and modernized Dino Crisis would be a small dream come true. And would wake up a series that deserves to be woken up more than many others.
By the way, you can see why Dino Crisis 1 was so great in the video here:
Of course, there is a lot of personal wishful thinking involved here. Capcom has not yet officially confirmed a Dino Crisis revival and will certainly do so for nowOnimusha: Way of the SwordandOkami 2focus. There are also a few other dormant Capcom series.Lost Planetfor example. OrSteel Battalion.
I would also be there in a heartbeat if there was a remake/new part of the latter - with the gigantic controller included, of course. My scream of joy at such an announcement would probably also be audible - although not as loud as during Dino Crisis.
Which sleeping Capcom series do you think should return as soon as possible?
