What is new in Patch 8?
Patch 8 brings some new features into play, including 12 new subclasses - one for each of the classes in the game. Here are the most important changes:
Crossplay
With Patch 8, it will also be possible to play together with friends across platforms (Playstation, Xbox and PC). To do this, you have to switch on cross-play in the multiplayer settings and can then create multiplayer lobbies or join them. Here you can also add friends of other platforms via the Plus icon by entering the name of your Larian account.
12 new subclasses
Each of the 12 classes in the game gets a new subclass or specialization. Among other things, they bring new skills, spells and animations. These subclasses come into play:
- Barde: College of Glamor
- Barbar: Path of Giants
- Cleric: Death Domain
- Druide: Circle of Stars
- Paladin: Oath of the Crown
- Fighter: Arcane Archer

Photomodus
With the new photo mode you can soon shoot snapshots in the game. You can adjust the camera and lentils, choose facial expressions and poses, remove characters from the picture or add frame and stickers.
In cutscenes and dialogues, you cannot change the camera and team composition, but at least adapt your snapshots to lighting, saturation or color.
SplitsCreen-Coop for Xbox Series S
So far, Xbox Series S-players had to do without Splitscreen-Coop, which was only available on the Series X due to technical problems. But that should change now. Couch-Coop is officially possible on all consoles from Patch 8.
The complete English patch notes for the stress test can be found inCommunity-Updateby Larian Studios on Steam.
In addition, Patch 8 naturally also offers some bug fixes and minor improvements. If a character, for example, discovers a hidden object with perception, it is now marked on the minimap. In addition, Cerys will soon no longer join the fight for unknown reasons if you have Minthara in the team.
