Assassin's Creed Shadows introduces changes to stealth kills and here's how the new system works

In Assassin's Creed Shadows, the titular shadows are our friends - especially as Naoe.

is the next part of Ubisoft's popular series and it more or less overhauls the entire stealth system. The bird for an overview is no longer necessary, but we can hide particularly well in the darkness.

However, some enemies can no longer be eliminated in one fell swoop from an ambush, some can. Fortunately, this can easily be switched off in the options menu (via:Ubisoft).

Assassin's Creed Shadows: This is changing the stealth system

Observation and Eagle Vision:Our feathered companion is history; in Shadows we have no way of scouting out a location from a bird's eye view and marking all enemies. However, as Naoe we can still use the classic Eagle Vision and spot enemies through walls. Observation, which Yasuke also masters, is a little more stripped down.

Neues Shinobi-Moveset:If we hide in the shadows at night, we are completely invisible to enemies. This time we can even turn off lanterns to create darkness ourselves. It also makes sense to sneak and lie down, which is the first time in the franchise. Naoe can even roll back and forth while lying down. The little assassin also fits into the narrowest of gaps and hiding places.

Naoe's Shinobi Arsenalcan really be seen:

  • Smoke bombsare great for escaping unseen or taking out low-ranking enemies with eliminations.
  • Shinobi Bells:The bells can be thrown anywhere to distract and lure opponents away.
  • Kunai: With the sharp throwing knives you can do a lot of damage and even get one-shot kills.
  • Shuriken: The throwing stars can stun enemies and be thrown as a distraction, or you can use them to turn off lanterns.

Ambush attacks:In Assassin's Creed Shadows you can also grab enemies and drag them to another location in order to then eliminate them there (lethal or not). Higher level enemies usually cannot be ambushed with a stealth kill; in fact, they can completely deflect the attack.

To increase damageyou either have to use the appropriate perks or experiment: While some enemies cannot be eliminated from behind, they are, for example, vulnerable to attacks from the air. But don't worry, there is an option in the options menu that allows you to directly kill all enemies with a single stealth attack.

And what about Yasuke? The samurai is more the man for rough and direct frontal attacks. Nevertheless, with a bit of luck you can sneak up on enemies and eliminate them from behind. The bow also allows Yasuke to attack undetected and from a distance, without the opponents seeing you and without you having to pull out your melee weapons.
