This is what Ubisoft says about the future of Shadows

First of all, we take a look at what the developer says in the form of game director Simon Lemay-Comtois on the future of Shadows (viaGameret):

"Apart from the "The Claws of Awaji" DLC and some special events and additional content that we have in the calendar, our plan to listen to our community and to support them as much as possible. This includes updates to improve quality of life, gameplay optimizations and additional options. We plan to give our players more of what they want."

Our assessment of the future of Shadows

It is no secret that AC Shadows for Ubisoft for recent financial failures and not fulfilled internal expectations (among other things) a fate game. How strongly the action RPG will be supplied with content in the future depends very much on how well the Japan offshoot sells.

If Shadows is very well received, further DLCs and story extensions, as in the last major (AC: Valhalla), are very likely.
