Just last night Ubisoft came around the corner with an important message:will be postponed again - to March 20, 2025. Shortly afterwards, more new information about the game followed. This time it's about the first expansion.
Steam reveals more about the first AC Shadows expansion
Unlike the announcement about the postponement, the information about the DLC only comes indirectly from Ubisoft. The developer and publisher has not officially promoted the expansion. Instead she showed up on theSteam shop pageon.
In an information text for the pre-order, not only the already known bonus quest “A Dog's Life” is mentioned, but also the first DLC including initial information:
- Extension name:“The Claws of Awaji”
- Release:later in 2025
- Preis:Free for pre-orderers (whether and if so at what price the DLC will be available separately is currently unknown)
What's in the first Shadows DLC?
In fact, the shop page reveals a lot more than just the name and rough release. What content and playing time awaits us can also be found out:
Feel the fear of being hunted and threatened on a mysterious island. Recover a lost treasure while avoiding the traps and ambushes of deadly new enemies. Master the Bou (a new weapon type), unlock new abilities and receive over 10 hours of additional content.
So we're not just offered new enemy types, abilities and a new weapon type. With the island there will also be a completely new section in the open world. This is probably Awaji Island, an L-shaped island in the southwest of the map, which is already onRedditwas noted.
What is a Bou?The Bou (also Bō or Bo staff) is a long stick, i.e. a blunt weapon. We know them primarily from Shaolin monks, but they are also used in some karate styles, for example. The young Son Goku also fights with it in the anime Dragon Ball.
Can I pre-order again? After pre-orders were refunded after the first postponement, there is currently no way to pre-order AC Shadows. Despite the information on the shop page, the game can still only be added to the wishlist on Steam. And there are currently no purchase options in the PlayStation Store and on Xbox either.
Since the release is getting closer and closer despite another postponement, it shouldn't be long before Ubisoft makes the game available for purchase again and reveals more about the individual editions.
