News - The Blood of Dawnwalker: Witcher 3 veterans will soon present their first game

Rebel Wolves, a studio made up of former Witcher developers, has big plans. The first work is scheduled to be presented in January and there is already a publisher.

The still young Polish studio Rebel Wolves was only founded in 2022 and has some illustrious names on the staff list, especially Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who worked as game director for The Witcher at CD Projekt RED and also held a management position on Cyberpunk 2077. And that's not the only familiar name on the team.

The game director will be joined in his new studio in Warsaw by Bartłomiej Gaweł, the art director of The Witcher 3, as well as the author Jakub Szamałek (Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Thronebreaker), design director Daniel Sadowski (Witcher 1), animation director Tamara Zawada (Witcher 3), CFO Michał Boryka and studio head Robert Murzynowski supported.

And now something is happening, as the team has announced that they are working on a first title called The Blood of the Dawnwalker, the first chapter of an entire saga. The title is described as a “dark fantasy narrative sandbox action role-playing game” with a strong focus on story and narrative. A not so small publisher has already been found in Bandai Namco.

And he now announced that the game will take place on January 13th at 10 p.m. as part of aLive streamsto be presented with material from an alpha version. A small animated teaser on Twitch with an emotive fantasy soundtrack that is a little reminiscent of Skellige from The Witcher 3 and a mountain landscape that changes with the times of day creates a first foretaste and it's really not bad.

The action of the game is apparently set in medieval Europe in the 14th century. A first description reads: "Learn more about Vale Sangora - its turbulent history, natural landscapes and secret inhabitants. Join us for the premiere of a CGI trailer that serves as the opening of the game, learn more about the pillars and main concepts of the Game, including the origins, world, lore, history, narrative and art, and get a sneak peek into gameplay."

The Blood of Dawnwalker is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 and will be released for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Well, my curiosity is piqued.
