The video game Sleeping Dogs was actually supposed to be made into a film, but apparently nothing will come of it now.
Do you remember Sleeping Dogs? The game was originally released in 2012 and then came to PS4 and Xbox One in 2014. In 2017 it was then confirmed that, but since then there has been radio silence on the matter. Now it's clear why!
The live-action adaptation of Sleeping Dogs will apparently no longer appear at all and has now been put on hold; The film project apparently no longer exists. This was confirmed by actor Donnie Yen (“Ip Man”), who was slated to star in the film.
Compared to our English-speaking colleaguesPolygonYen confirmed in a Zoom call that he had put a lot of time and his own money into the project, but in the end it was not implemented. "I waited for years. Years. I really wanted to do it. I have all these visions in my head, but unfortunately... I don't know, you know how things work in Hollywood sometimes, right? I have many, many years "It's just an unfortunate thing," Yen said.
When the planned film adaptation was announced in 2017, in addition to Yen's involvement, Nel H. Moritz ("The Fast & the Furious", "I Am Legend") was also confirmed as a producer.
GTA, Assassin's Creed, Skyrim... you know it all. But these open-world games are also worth it.
